CRE International Investors Coming to the US and AZ

June 30, 2021

Readers of this narrative know that my team and I represent tenants and landlords primarily in the Metro Phoenix area. Every year we see more and more investors coming to us from outside Arizona, and even outside the U.S. Interest in commercial real estate investing is on the rise in the international community, which is great news for Phoenix.

Below I’ve linked the National Association of Realtors’ report on international commercial real estate trends. The entire report is worth a read, but I’ve pulled a few graphs in particular and shared my takeaways below.

1. The U.S. is a hot market for international real estate investing. Over $94.9 billion of capital flowed into the United States in 2018, most of that coming from Canada.
2. These dollars are mostly flowing into big cities like Manhattan, but a sizable amount ($1.91 billion) was invested in Phoenix.
3. The biggest reason people don’t invest in property in the U.S. is because they can’t find one. A team like Coppola-Cheney can help with that.
